The Tzolk’in is a 260-day sacred Maya calendar made up of two cycles: 13 tones (1–13) and 20 day signs. Each day has a unique combination of tone and day sign. The tone describes how the day moves, the day sign carries the theme. Together they form a daily energetic signature.

The I Ching (Book of Changes) is a 3,000-year-old Chinese oracle made up of 64 hexagrams. Each hexagram is a combination of six lines and carries a specific wisdom and guidance. The app assigns a daily hexagram based on the lunar cycle, offering an additional layer of insight alongside the Maya reading.

The Celtic wheel of the year marks eight seasonal festivals: Samhain, Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lughnasadh and Mabon. Each marks a shift in natural energy and carries its own theme and invitation. The app shows which season you are currently in and how many days until the next one.

The Maya Long Count is a linear count of days from the Maya creation date. It is written as five numbers separated by dots (e.g. 13.0.13.5.2) and places the current day within a vast cosmic timeline. It is included for reference and completeness.

When you add your date, time and place of birth, the app calculates your personal cosmic profile: your Maya birth seal (your lifelong Tzolk’in signature), your I Ching birth hexagram, your moon phase at birth, your sun sign, moon sign and ascendant (rising sign).

Birth date alone gives you your Maya seal, I Ching hexagram, moon phase and sun sign. Your birth time is needed to calculate your moon sign and ascendant, as these change throughout the day. Without a time, the app uses noon as a default.

The ascendant is calculated using an approximation based on your birth city. For a precise degree, a dedicated astrology tool with your exact GPS coordinates is recommended. The app notes this clearly in the profile display.

Your Maya birth seal is your personal Tzolk’in day — the tone and day sign active on the day you were born. It stays the same for life and represents your core energy, natural strengths and life theme. Each day, the app shows how today’s energy relates to your birth seal.

No. All data you enter — including your birth date, time and place — is stored locally on your device only. Nothing is sent to any server. Cosmic Calendar has no backend, no account system and no data collection of any kind.

No. There is no tracking, no analytics and no advertising. The app works entirely offline after installation.

Yes. Tap Edit birth profile in the profile section, clear the fields and save. Your data is removed from the device immediately. Deleting the app also removes all stored data permanently.

Cosmic Calendar sends an optional daily reminder at 07:00 to open your reading. You can allow or deny this when first opening the app, and change it anytime in your iPhone Settings.

Go to iPhone Settings → Notifications → Cosmic Calendar and toggle them off.
