FAQ — Photo Mirage

What is Photo Miroir? Photo Miroir is a photo journaling app that looks at your images differently. It analyzes the mood, light, colour, and composition of your photos and connects them to one of 78 universal symbols — reflecting something back to you that you may not have seen. Not prediction. A mirror.

How does the symbol matching work? When you start a reading, the app uses computer vision to analyze the visual properties of each photo — brightness, warmth, contrast, whether there are people, nature, architecture, movement. These qualities are matched to symbolic archetypes rooted in Jungian psychology. The match is meaningful, not random.

Does the app predict the future? No. Photo Miroir is a tool for self-reflection. The symbols act as a mirror — they ask questions, not give answers. Whether you find meaning in the reading is entirely up to you.

Are my photos stored or uploaded? Never. Your photos stay entirely on your device. The app processes images locally. The only thing sent to the internet is a short text description of your reading for the AI interpretation — no photos, no personal data.

What is Photo of the Day? Every day at midnight, Photo Miroir selects a photo and symbol from your past readings as your daily reflection. It changes each day, giving you a new perspective on an image you’ve already experienced.

What is Blind Pick? Blind Pick shows you a photo from your library that you’ve likely forgotten — pulled from older images rather than recent ones. Each time you view a photo, it asks you a different question to prompt reflection.

What is Photo Memoir? Photo Memoir is a memory matching game using your own photos or any album from your library. Flip cards to find pairs. When you find a match, you see the photo full size.

What is Build Your Own Deck? You can assign any of your own photos to each of the 78 symbols — creating a completely personal reflection deck. Instead of letting the app choose, your deck reflects your own visual language.

Do I need a subscription for AI readings? The AI interpretation feature requires a subscription. All other features — readings, Photo of the Day, Blind Pick, Photo Memoir, and Thoughts — are free.

Who made Photo Miroir? Photo Miroir was made by Atmani (Herman Paul Blok) — artist, musician, and long-time tarot reader based in Haarlem, the Netherlands. The app combines his interest in photography, symbolism, and self-reflection.
